What did you all start with? Right about this time of year I feel like I am getting nowhere fast, but today I decided to dig up some pictures I took on the day I closed on this house in 2003 and compare that with today. I've included a couple here but will add more as I get time to dig them up.

Here is the first one:

Back yard on sale day:

And Back yard today(five years almost later ( I can't believe how much the trees have grown!):

that's nutts! Who would put up a fuss over a clothes line? But I did work in a place that banned flags. All Flags!

Good God, I repeat "What in the HE** has the world come to" and more important what can we do about it?

I live in a townhouse, and I am not allowed to hang laundry outside at all either. It pisses me off every time there is a sunny, breezy day and I have to hang the laundry inside. I don't understand what is so offensive about drying clothes!

Unfortunately the clothesline doesn't get much use in this climate with 6 feet of rain a year! It is nice to have though.

Jen, remember to take the "before" pictures so you have a history when you think you are not getting very far with your new place. I wish I had taken more when I first moved in, but much of the property was like the brambles around the barn - I couldn't easily get to a spot to take a picture!

Well mine's still in the "before" stage. These pics are actually from the appraisal report and brochure by the state (Alaska, I bought it from the state). They're taken from the neighboring lot, looking towards mine. Mine starts about where the taller spruce start (sorry, resizing them made a couple of them slightly blurry):

I'll have my work cut out for me, clearing about an acre out of the 20 I bought next spring/summer and putting up a cabin...
