I made the mistake in my first HELLO of mentioning something about my world view that drew the Admin guy to move my thread to Politics. It was hijacked by trolls, so he had no choice.

Interestingly, I am too junior to rebut anything that is being said on that board because I am not allowed to post there yet----ain't that grand.

SOOOooo anyway. I am a Marine spouse of 18 years and we are retiring to a homestead that we purchased with the last four pay grade raises, thereby having little mortagage left upon retirement.

I grew up in this county where my family has lived for almost 300 years, and have returned here while the Marine is off finishing the sunset tour in harm's way. We always knew it would be this way, this transition time, but it is especially hard re-learning rusty skills with the added stress of a dangerous separation.

My skill set might prove useful on this forum because of my travel and work experience. I believe we need to bring our neighbors into self-sufficiency, or we shall all pay the price for their ignorance.

SO>>>HI! AGAIN!

I look forward to meeting you all...even the trolls.:sarcastic:

PS...I am a terrible typist, though I make my living on the computer. Bear with the typos. Thanks!

Welcome from East Texas :)

You're right about helping our neighbors understand the need for self sufficiency, but sadly so many just don't care. We can try, tho, to plant seeds that can sprout into a better understanding of this lifestyle.

Thank You, for your husband's service. I know you'll be happy when he's home to stay.

Welcome

North western WI. here. "Jackpine Savage" country.

There is a lot to learn on this type of forum, that can be used sometime in life. Not necessaraly all at the same time. Like the saying goes, "Ive done it all at one time or another, but not all at once." Also there is a lot of humor and company of like minded people to be had here.........

Relax
Enjoy
