basics of cooking

what do you all think, would it be a good idea to have a sticky in the cooking section that teaches basic basics to beginning beginners? Not recipies, but how to accomplish certain things. How to make a basic reoux for instance. Ways to separete an egg, etc.

I do remember a thread awhile back about learning how and it had some good info in it. Maybe instead of starting a new thread someone could find that one and ask to make that a sticky

I think that a brand new cooking "How To" sticky is a good idea......I don't think that old tired thread is what bookwormom is asking for.
