Even if you are not really into Bluegrass music, you gotta check out Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder. He was a child prodigy and I have followed his career. He sounds better now than he did 10 or even 20 years ago. So if he comes to your area go see him, you will get your moneys worth!

Great! If you have never seen them in person you are in for a real treat.
On a side note I remember many years ago when Ricky and Keith Whitley were members of J.D. Crowe and the New South. Use to catch their shows whenever I could. Just a tragedy about Keith though. He had so much to offer. He wrote a song called "When you say nothing at all" brings tears to my eyes to this day.

Your welcome. I at my age have been fortunate to see the great ones. Bill Monroe, Flatt and Skruggs. Ralph Stanley.

Even when I was in the Service if I could attend only one Bluegrass event it was always bean blossom time.

I can only play 3 - two finger chords on the Mandolin.
G, D, and one other, but have a lot of fun at informal jams. Always sit next to the banjos, they are loud enough I can do what I want and nobody notices........ Ha....

Plan to get down there someday.

The group, Monroe Crossing is local Minneapolis band. They have 2 EXTREMELY talented people. They are all good, but these 2 are extraordinary. Benjie can't remember his last name. Young guy who is as good a banjo player there has ever been in the country. Lisa Fugeley (bad spelling) she plays fiddle mostly. She is a very talented singer and song writer.

I have sat and sang most of the words to the version of "Whiskey Before Breakfast" that they play quite a few times that I have seen them. Of the 8 or 9 versions of that song, they and I happen to know the same one. They usually go faster than I can............

A trip there is one of the things that is going on my personal "bucket list"

Enjoy
