HI
I m new to BHM :)
I was wondering i got three new barrels and we have a vernal pool and it is linked with a small spring on our property
I was thinking of collecting this water for my garden for the summer.
Is there bacteria that might harm my garden plants and seedlings in my GH ?
it is for plant use only , not human consumption.
I got one one out there collecting rain water.
I am also going to hook up a gutter system on my Gh to collect the water . I am building a cattle panel hoop house .
Thanks for any help or ideas you can give me

Seems like it would work to me. The added benefit will be that the water will warm a bit before watering. I had an awful time last summer because it was cool to begin with and the well water I used to water with remained ice cold. I am thinking of buying one of those big 4 ft deep swimming pools - as large as I can get and set it up with a pump in it. It rains enough to fill it in a season and then I can pump from there to the gardens. I am thinking I can grow fish in it too. but that is another topic altogether!

Your barrels will get mosquitos unless you use those barley floats or put screens on the top.
