Yep, it's cold as hell and with all the ice this place looks like a tornado went through most of the state. *So far 24 are dead across the state with about 20% of residences out of power - sucks. *President says he's here to help so let's get those federal dollars a flowin. *Yeah right. *Boy my old generator sure has been gettin a workout. *Thank God for lamps, generators and plenty of water in the hot tub for toilets. *Semper Paratus.Me and mine are fine and Paco and I are just cuttin up down tree limbs for the burn pile. *Sure did screw up deer season. *Weather man says snow Friday & Saturday but I doubt it'll amount to much.

Glad to see you are making out. IN Pauls Valley area we missed most of the ice. Have had lots of rain.

Be safe out there cutting trees. Chaps and a helmet, at minimum. I was hit by a falling tree once, it ain't no fun! Lots of free firewood though!
We're supposed to get some snow here tomorrow night and Saturday, kinda looking forward to running the snowthrower for a few hours.
I think the people on this forum are prepared to a huge degree more than the "general population". I guess it boils down to "if you're prepared for anything, you're ready for just about everything"

My parents & in-laws are in Broken Arrow, brother in Tulsa. They aren't expecting power anytime soon. Luckily the only damage they had was from lost trees - none to home, auto, or person.
Here in IL we got a lot of rain and it froze on the ground last night. So we were lucky.

The death toll this morning is up to 33. Seems some family had lost power and were burning their charcoal cooker in the house for warmth (???) and died of carbon monoxcide poisoning.

We've been lucky where I live in far south OKC, still got power and water. *I work as a dispatcher for OKC and water has been on and off in area's like Mustang and Western OKC. *Many people are becoming irriate that they don' t have water and power. *They call me to rant.....I call this "wearage". * Hope everyone get's power soon and this weather doesn't come back for a few years.
Just to add. *Don't set your generator near your door when it's running. *Put it out and away from the structure. *Several folks have been poisoned by carbon monoxide gas because of this. *One died.

Funny, "wearage". I have to tell our dispatchers that one. We're dealing with snow now, people just won't slow down or stay home. 90% of our calls today are on the Interstate, the locals are dealing just fine. Looking forward to some QT with the snowthrower in an hour or so!

Yep, pulled in to my sister's place Saturday on Toleda Bend. *Got up Sunday morning, dang ATV wouldn't start of course so I borrowed the BIL's and by 1130 hrs I was squeezing the trigger on a real nice 6 point. *Butchered and on ice, now if I can just to the same tomorrow. *I was a little cool but it was snowin when I left the house so cool is just fine. *Looks like I be down here till Thursday latest as Sweetie just got tickets for Hockey at the Ford Center. *So what ya been up to? *Not many out fishin up here yet, figured the Crappy would be bitin buy not yet. *So, you up for coffee? *I think Jim and Annie are down here somewhere, maybe we could all drag up for a cup of Joe and swap a few lies. *

It seems we have an ice storm every year. We're still cutting trees from last year's ice storm. Lucky, we didn't get hit this year.... Live In Eastern OK about 2 hours south of Tulsa. I was prepared this time. Our main problem is water. We're on a well and guess what, no utilities means no water and I can't do a generator at the well site. Just won't happen.

Hi debbie-bountiful. Last time I was in that neck of the woods, we could hardly walk across the front lawn the ice was so thick.
Is there anyway you could use an old-fashioned pitcher pump when the power is out??
