Since the hubster got a job working for the city, he kind of has the advantage of knowing what's going to happen in town, like what properties have been sold and which ones are going to be dozed and leveled...stuff like that.
A company just leveled a house here in town that the local co-op wanted the lot of. They're going to turn it into a parking lot, but there was a problem....what to do with all that awesome top soil.
It's being dumped in our yard right now. Not only that, there's some pretty good sod in it and I just happen to have a spot where I had to have some trench work done ( new water main) and I have yet to get the depression filled in and seeded. Now, we just have to rake some of that wonderful top soil into it, place the sod as nicely as we can, and water the hell out of it.
We also now have wonderful soil for some new raised beds and such.
I'm almost giddy.
