I made this the other night and it is good! It's thinner than your average sauce but easily could be thickened.

I skipped the ginger/pepper and used just plain old mustard. I boiled it all together for about 5 minutes.

I used it on stirfry and it gives a good flavor.

I use something like this when I put chicken legs (not wings...they are outrageously expensive!) in the crockpot. It's one of our favorite dishes. Add steamed rice on the side and it's one of the cheapest too!

My wife tried this and it left a nasty bitter aftertaste.
Any idea on what caused that?
Maybe the ginger?
I really need a good teriyaki recipe.
Thanks

@ backlash

I bet the ginger and pepper would of made it bitter. I skipped it. I also used plenty of brown and white sugar and put in about 1/2 cup less soy sauce than called for.

I didn't blender it either, I cooked everything together and boiled it for 5 minutes. I also used sweetened pineapple juice since we like sweet teriyaki.

It all settles chunky but I mix it right before I use it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.
I think you might be on the right track.
We'll try it again and leave the ginger and pepper out.

My wife just informed me that after she put it in the refrigerator over night it's not bad.
I'll try it this weekend.
Thanks again.
