Anyone making any crocheted/knitted/quilted/etc. items to give as gifts this Christmas? I am working on a hat and scarf for my mom. Well, not really working on it, but I did buy the yarn and print out patterns last night does that count? LOL.

I currently have three sweaters and four pairs of socks on needles. I get bored quickly, so I just switch around every day to work on something different! My dd thinks it's hysterical the way I get things done, but it works for me!

I have a cardigan for DH on needles right now for Christmas, a lapgan for my sister, a poncho for DGD and bathroom rug on Tunisian crochet needle. Oh yeah I forgot the scarf for Mom that I have been working on since this summer. She complained last year that everyone but her got a scarf (she never wears them but if that's what she wants). My newest grand daughter was born this month so a lot of time went into knitting for her :) I also made a quilt for my DGD that is getting the poncho. Her mom loves the home made gifts :)

I spend winter evenings doing stuff with needles--mostly cross stitch, those nifty nitter things, and crochet. The crocheted Christmas balls are fun, and like-minded people seem to enjoy receiving them. These are made with size 3 hook and bedspread weight thread. When they're done, you rinse them, saturate them with a glue/water mixture, blow up a little balloon inside, and let them dry. Then deflate the balloon and add a ribbon to hang it. I've used red, green, white, and gold-flecked thread. The little hole in the finished end can fit over a little light on the tree--Sister Barbara did one with a blue thread and put it on a light and it was magical!
I give these as gifts when we visit people around the holidays, and I use them instead of bows on presents to very special people. (They DO take more time and love than pulling a bow out of a bag, after all.)

I have 3 scarves done and 1 to go. I'm also working on an afghan. Wondering if that'll get done!

Hi all, I've been gone awhile, that whole "life gets in the way" thing.
Anyway, I'm knitting grocery bags for gifts this year. Sounds silly I suppose, but I'm going to include some jars of my HM jams, and a biscuit cozy as well.
I'm knitting the cozies too!
