The company I contract for is getting rid of some windows that they are replacing so I called the foreman and asked if I could get them. Now remember I didn't know the size or the amount at this time. He answered me back a little to fast. He said sure you can have them all. Well the term all meant 150 windows with tempered class. Each window measures 4' 6" X 8 ' tall with aluminum frames. Right now I'm thinking the worlds largest green house :o

WOW that is a lot of glass.
5400 sq feet of windows. That would make a huge greenhouse.
How are you going to haul all that home?

Man, I'd sell sell sell on craigslist... or you could always remove the glass, find a use for it, then sell the frames scrap.

Sounds like time for a couple cold frames and maybe a REALLY big solar dehydrator, along with the greenhouse idea.

I'm very proud for you. Wish I lived closer. The first word that came to mind for me was.................
"JACKPOT"
SPIKE
One year the railroad was replacing some of the ties near us and ex husband asked if we could have a few of the old ones. They said sure, we will even bring them. We got home and there were several hundred rail road ties stacked up. Looked like we were forting up to fight off Apaches. We used them; we sold them; we gave them away and we finally had a huge bonfire.

Lucky you! ;D
Just take 'em. Put them off somewhere you dont have to look at them everytime you walk out your door. Figure out what projects you'd like to do then at least you know you have material. Or you can keep half of the jackpot and sell the other half on craigslist. You can also give some to friends that you think will use them. I love coming across stuff.

Wow... that's a great haul! Don't feel overwhelmed (I know, easier said than done). Plan your projects (I'd be dreaming of a greenhouse and solar dehydrator) and the rest should sell or go quickly.
Maybe you could offer to sell and build a greenhouse for someone else with the leftover windows and make a profit?
Anyway, good luck. I know they'll go to good use.
