Scum bags.

Ticks me off. We didn't get a choice in any of those poorly planned/implemented bailouts but we will feel the cost. If you are a big enough bank, you can continue to party like it was 1999.

Guess we better pinch even harder, cuz they're already talking about bailing out the home builders next. And then those who "over extended themselves" on their credit cards.... they'll be bailing out anyone with a pulse soon, all on OUR backs.... >:(

It gets better.......

They are talking above "forgiving" some of the debt all together.......

Say for example someone owes 140K on a home loan, the GVT would make 40k of that disappear,is if it were never there.....thus reducing the person's debt by 40k instantly....

I think this is not fair to all the people who are working hard to keep up with payments, and making an honest effort.....

They are also talking about doing the same with credit card debt.....just making it disappear.......again,not fair to all those who are and have worked so hard to pay off debt honestly........

Not fair to my husband and I who have spent the last 4 1/2 years paying off our mistakes because we made the debt, and didn't feel it was right to make someone else pay for our mistakes by filing for bankruptcy.......

They made the debt,no one forced them into it,no one was there making them sign for a mortgage they knew they wouldn't be able to afford.....no one forced them to run up all that credit card debt.....and who's going to end up paying for it when they don't???

OK,getting off the soap box rant now........

It's just not right. The wife and I have been piching pennies for almost five years to get out of debt, almost their. Seems like the ones that have worked to stay out of debt are going to pay for the ones that have been living high on the hog. If their is anything left in four years when I retire we are going to all but vanish from the world of taxes and live a quite, frugal life. We got the frugal part down, just need some quite,LOL

Statistic on the news tonight. *All modified loans - those loans restructured for the people that bought more house than they could afford - are now 50% foreclosed again.

Yes! *Bailouts work *::)

Yeah, for the mortgage brokers that wrote that last batch of bad ones. Hey, I got an ad yesterday associated with realtor.com (I had their site up) and guess what? ING is offering FIVE YEAR ADJUSTABLE AGAIN! Only now they're at 5.25%... not like 3% as some mortgages were before. I wonder how long it will be before they get to "negative amoritization" mortgages agai Grab your ankles guys!.

Well here is one I heard today and I guess it is being used. Buy a bigger house for less with a better rate then let the old house go back to the bank. I won't bore you guys with the details but it works.

Doesn't seem like anyone has learned a thing from the times we are going through.

Geez-maybe if it gets bad enough, I won't have to repay all of the loans that I have to go back to school and all of my classmates who made agreements with the state of Mississippi to work at a state hospital in exchange for tuition forgiveness will all be off the hook since there will probably be a bailout for us too! ;D

What? do you think the money for your loans and promises falls right down out of heaven??? If you don't pay your bills who does?
I'll TELL you who does, anyone who pays out in taxes.
Anyone whose life savings have be devalued BECAUSE of bad loans.
Those that come after the selfish student loan grabbers who won't repay, because those loans are becoming harder to get.
Who else pays? Those people who are cheated by your classmates that won't fulfill a promise.
Now, that's just a start.
Talk about SELFISH.

Politicians gave all that money to big financial groups and banks. They are holding the money or giving bonuses to upper management (the same people who screwed things up. The homeowner that is in trouble with his/her loan is left out of their equation. All that money could have been much better spent by simply handing every citizen $5,000 and saying "here, go buy American". The economy would get an instant boost and people could get themselves right.

I was JOKING!! I have made a commitment to the United States Air Force to become a nurse for them after I graduate. Anybody who has regularly read my posts knows that I take my commitments very seriously. Is the US government going to repay the money I borrowed in exchange for this commitment. Yes, if I had borrowed it from the bank. But since I borrowed it from my parents, no. I could make much more money working in the private sector, but because I choose to be patriotic and do my part to SAVE this country, I'm joining the military at the age of 43. What is it that I am saving?- A bunch of irresponsible corporate greedy CEOs who stick it to the little guy to bring home more bonuses, a bunch of immoral mortgage brokers who cared only about their kickbacks and not about the people who needed the money to buy a house that they couldn't afford and a moron on this site who can't understand a joke.

Hey, I'm not THE MORON who writes what they don't mean. It however, is a MORON that writes what is essentially a lie, and doesn't disclose it.
I could respect you, I could almost like you til I read the MORON comment.
You'd better LEARN what a moron is, especially if you intend to be a nurse. What are you going to kid your patients about? "Oh, I just found out you're gonna croak tomorrow. HAHA fooled ya", hmmmm.
I guess nursing is so short of people...Let me know where you're going to locate after the military, I sure won't take a chance of moving there, getting sick, going to the hospital and having a short tempered b1+c4 like you for a nurse.
Too bad, 43 and your PARENTS are paying? This moron sent HERSELF through school while working AND being a single mom.
BOOHOO my heart BLEEDS for you.
And, oh, if you could get away with it, I'll bet you WOULDN'T pay.
You are "buying" yourself an officer rank with officer pay and officer priviledges and retirement., you are too OLD to join the service without being deemed "essential" therefore the nursing. Some people are MORONS and will believe your pseudo altruism. NOT me.
You have already proven yourself to be a liar.

and oh, in keeping with my policy of PROVING what i say, here are the maximum ages (you said Air Force) for enlistment.
Please note:
AIR FORCE 27
One would think that age would be a simple category. One is either old enough, or too old, right? Unfortunately, it doesn't quite work that way. By federal law (10 U.S.C., 505), the minimum age for enlistment in the United States Military is 17 (with parental consent) and the maximum age is 35 (Note: Congress changed this to age 42 in 2006). However, DOD policy allows the individual services to specify the maximum age of enlistment based upon their own unique requirements. The individual services have set the following maximum ages for non-prior service enlistment:

Active Army - 42
Army Reserves (Including National Guard) - 42
Active Air Force - 27
Air Force Reserve (inlcuding National Guard) - 34
Active Navy - 34
Naval Reserves - 39
Active Marines - 28
Marine Corps Reserve - 29
Active Duty Coast Guard - Age 27. Note: up to age 32 for those selected to attend A-school directly upon enlistment (this is mostly for prior service).
Coast Guard Reserves - Age 39.

I will be off the air a few days as tomorrow we are moving our fifthwheel to a great hosting position. Free rent, free utilities and hosting a real sweet Trap and Skeet club. All they want in return is someone to be their at night and keep things from walking off. Just my way of pinching pennies and saving yet another four hundred bucks a month. Next year I will be buying that piece of land and will be one step closer to a homestead. fnfredux, I think you know were I am talking about. Anyways, I am looking forward to tomorrow morning for sure. Just as soon as I find a good price on internet service I will be back up and running.

Good luck mac! i'm looking forward to your being a Missourian, you'll LOVE the show me state if this is where you choose.
Guess that's what makes me want to SHOW people the truth of things all the time.
I'd say you've earned the right to say "show me" too. You turned things around and did it without any bailouts!
We'll be talking to you here on the boards again soon.
By the way, I had friends that did the samething in CA, around San Bernadino. They just got free rent (would have been, if you can imagine $1200 a month) but the husband had to do some "chores" like booking people in and collecting payments. the wife was a nurse who worked 3/12's so they had it pretty nice.
Wish you good luck and good traveling.

A Missourian I will be. I have just about bailed myself out. Five long years. It was like scouping water from a sinking boat with a teaspoon at first but now I can see the bottom and I am using a bucket as well, LOL. Thanks for the help Sister as you have shared much about your home state.
