Visited my favorate bookseller yesterday at the flea market and came home with three treasures. Got Carla Emery's Encyclopedia for 2$ and Bartholomew's Square foot Gardening and Rosaland Creasly's Edible landscaping for 1$ each. I'll be positioning them right next to my 1$ Firefox books.

Lucky you! I'm jealous our used book stores charge almost as much as a regular store.

That's awesome! I never seem to have any luck getting used books for a good price, so I usually just buy then new. Actually I just ordered Carla Emery's book a couple of days ago.

The only decent used book store I know of in this city only discounts the books about 30% of the cover price, which isn't a very good deal when many of the books there are quite old. Then there is Value Village, which I believe discounts books 50%, still not very good when the cover is ripped and the pages are yellowed!

Anyway, happy reading! :)

Good finds! I've found lots of good used books at flea markets, yard sales, and thrift shops. There are a few used book stores around here, but with the exception of one, most are used paperbacks. I have a strange affection for old do-it-yourself books..my last find was a "complete home handyman's guide" from 1930 for 50 cents....at the Habitat for Humanity store of all places.
My wife has bought quite a few good used books online too, alibris.com and abebooks.com have both gotten us good books deals, as well as shopgoodwill.com.
