Hello all,

I recently visited a local Radio Shack in Farmington, MO.

The guy behind the counter was selling a regular TV antenna to a man and a woman (who looked to be very well off!).

They walked out and I asked the guy if those antennas were actually still any good.

He stated that since the television signal is going digital that there is a special box that you can buy to pick up HD digital channels right out of the air with an antenna for FREE. He said that these TV antennas have been one of their best sellers here recently.

(He also stated that there is a guy he knows that picks up 21 channels straight out of the air!)

Do any of you guys/gals know anything about this?

Zach

I haven't had anything but rabbit ears for the past 2 1/2 years. we bought a new flat screen monitor/tv a few months back and receive both hd and reg broadcast channels i will be putting up an outside antenna shortly. the bad thing with the hd channels is that you either have a picture or you don't you cant watch them a little fuzzy. the boxes convert analog only tv to hd kinda like a cable box works there are coupons for $40 you can get heres the link. If you have a TV that's newer 2yrs or so its probably set up already

The converter boxes cost $40.00,but you can send for a coupon to get one free or nearly free,I guess there are two different models of the boxes.

I haven't done it yet,but probably should. We only get five channels as it is,but I'm too cheap to pay $60.00 a month just to get 15 or so channels here.
