Major score--USMC boots

Went to the resale shop yesterday for entertainment. Surprised they were open. Anyway, I found a pair of boots in the ladies dept. and I thought wow, those look brand new. And they were, have never been worn, laces still rolled up. They fit well, and were 50% off of $8.99, so I bought them thinking I'd use them for working around the place in the winter or whatever.

I got home and looked at them closer, and saw that they have a little USMC logo on the side of the heel, so I looked inside and found a manufacturer name, Belleville. Went to bellevilleboots.com, and found them. USMC boots, 'hot weather', steel toe. They are men's boots, a size 6.5 in men's, but they fit my women's size 8 hoof just fine. They sell for something like $118.00 on that site.

I think I did pretty well! I'm always just amazed at what turns up in resale shops.

Be careful Goodaughter that every time you put them on you will want to do push ups or bayonet something. :o

Didn't see any size 13's ;) This place is like most resale shops--some days chickens, some days feathers. I was kind of surprised that I found them. I thought they were just hiking boots at first, until I got them home.

Nope, no desire to bayonet anything ;D, and I doubt I could do any more than a dozen or so push ups these days, or maybe not even that many with my stupid shoulders and arthritis.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for more boots like this, and if I find any I'll post them here to see if anyone would like them. I might make a run into town tomorrow on errands and I'll stop to see.
