Don't feel too bad. I been here a long time but now I can't get into chat despite repeated downloads of the plug-in. Must just be some new bugs to be worked out.....

Must be a lot of bugs crawling around. The other day I was going to edit the post I had just written and the edit button was gone.

Is it a big red message at the top of the forum? Does it have an X (if memory serves) at the end. If so, click on the X to acknowledge that you've read the message.

Don't know for sure if this is the problem, so this is just a penny that may help.

That notice was supposed to show only to members who've never posted.

Some embarrassed person, who shall remain nameless, set the wrong variable.

You should not be seeing that message any longer.
