A friend of mine bought one of these for another room of her house. She wanted me to connect it to her cable box. While I was setting it up, I notice the A.C. cord had a wall wart on the end that plugs into the wall outlet. I checked it out and I went nuts! The output is 12 v.d.c. @ 4 amps! Guess where some of my income tax return is going... ;)
Zoom in on the back and you'll see the D.C. power input jack..

The interesting thing about it other the the bad reviews, was that even when looking for it I found nothing about it being 12volt. Hmmm

I seen the wall wart myself... ;)
I also seen how well it worked. I agree with the sound gripes but I have the technology to fix that..

Nice! LED TV
1080P, $220, 22" and 12 Volt!
8 lb.
I can't do that with my computer monitor....
I wonder if I can find a monitor for 12 volt. One less thing to run on an inverter.
Power Consumption
On Mode Power: 26W
Standby Power: 0.6W
Estimated Annual Energy Consumption: 51kWh*
Estimated Annual Cost: $5.73** I think my 26" tube TV cost me more than that just being plugged in.
Here's your Vizio Wall wart:

That same adaptor fits some other models too. I'm gonna check them out and see if I can get a better bargin. 22" is nice but I really don't need one that big. Maybe one of them is a little smaller with a DVD player in it!

....that's a dangerous thing. ;)
I did a search and found this page:

Sure enough there are some 12 volt powered computer monitors and some VERY good ones!
I checked the largest one and here it is:
There is the 12 inverter "brick" right in the middle:

and the back of the monitor:

I could be wrong, but I think if a tv has a usb port a computer can be plugged into it. Also, external speakers make a huge difference with any tv.

Since I got a nice laptop I never even turn on my TVs anymore!
I watch all my movies and tv shows and listen to radio and Cds through the laptop. It has cut back on my power use a lot.
