Gov "Energy Efficient" bulb mandate ?

On the local news the other night there was a blurb about a future article about the "Government mandate to switch to Energy Efficient bulbs"

Never heard of it, till now. When did this happen ? When will this start ?

Anyone with details ?

I honestly do not see the big deal about it. The govt,. is banning incandescent bulbs in a certain range. But "special" bulbs will still be available.

Yes, I've heard those stories. Fortunately they haven't come here yet.
