If you saw the waste at my place of employment you frugalistas would just want to die!
The emergency room or anywhere in a hospital for that matter is just a garbage producing machine. Everything is packaged for sterility and most of the stuff is disposable.
Beautiful stainless steel scissors, hemostats, plastic buckets, ah, the list is endless. Most of it is a one-time use, then throw it away.
Those cute little pink buckets are great for family reunions....hold a ton of potato salad......I only bring home the ones that aren't used I promise.
Anyway, make friends with a nurse that works in a hospital, they can get you some sweet stuff that is just tossed. Partially used items that can be used to make up great first aid kits......the list is endless.
