I designed and live in this 14x14 solar cabin full time and it might be of interest to anyone looking for an inexpensive cabin that can be powered with solar and wind.

Many videos of interior and all solar installation on my youtube channel:

Very nice! I thought it would take a lot more solar power to run those items. It looks like you've used the available floor space very well.
I have to ask though. Why did you decide to build the cabin instead of using the money to buy something like a 28 foot RV camper? I can see some benefits with the cabin, such as the loft and office space, but it seems a camper might work just as well, and it's already set up with plumbing, etc. I had a buddy who lived in a 28 foot camper and it worked pretty good for him.

I lived in a camp trailer for two years before building the cabin and it was fine until winter. Most rvs are not designed for cold winter use and you wold spend a lot to keep them warm in cold climates like where I live.

The cabin was only $2000 to build and a decent size fully contained used camper was over $4000 here.

There is also a lot more room in the cabin. An 8x35 foot RV only gives you 280 sqft most of which is taken up by cabinets with small walkways. The cabin has almost 400 sqft with kitchen, dining, bathroom and living area downstairs and a large bedroom and office upstairs.

That makes a lot of sense. Looks like you made the right decision. The layout of the cabin looks a lot more open than an RV would be. I'm glad to see it's working for you. I'll be checking out more of your videos.
