I know we have many members here who are from MO. I hope all of you are well after the Twister in Joplin

Prayer's here, too. Not only for those who have already faced the weather disasters, but also those who may be in the path today and tomorrow. (sigh)

The weather is definitely keeping us on the edge of our seats. The death toll in Joplin continues to rise, and probably isn't done yet. Thirteen more killed in other states yesterday/last night, and the forecast is for more severe storms in the area today. While it makes one glad to be preparedness-oriented, it also makes you take notice of how vulnerable you still may be... in many cases (myself included, to some extent), all those supplies and all that food can in an instant be transformed into more "debris" scattered over a hundred square miles .
I'm glad I have a basement, but since we can't necessarily bring our lives to a complete stop to hover at the top of basement steps for the next few days, there are still major concerns; my children at school, my wife at work, and the thousands of other folks who's fate may very well rest on where they happened to be when/if calamity strikes - to within a few feet in some cases.
Such is life.

Exciting day in Kansas City today. 6 or 7 touchdowns. One was only a few blocks from my daughter's work. The town of Sedalia, East of KC, had about 4 blocks wiped out.
I was glued to the radar. I watched a small storm cell come at us and then we got 1/2" of rain in 1/2hr. I gave the girls the all clear, then refreshed the radar image. Right after it passed our hose, it quadrupled in size and they issued a tornado warning. It spawned a tornado in the next county.
Edit: A small storm cell. Well, everything is relative. When I was looking at a 300mi wide radar image, it appeared small. When the rain is falling so hard it looks like fog, the storm seems pretty big.
