How many of the folk's here "re-purpose" items
that the already own instead of buying new
"dedicated'" items? Finding items at home
that will do the job is huge money saver.
What have you re-purposed lately?

Old wooden bowl is now a birfeeder, had to add a flange to the bottom so I could dump it out occasionally. The flange is a piece of 1&1/2 inch steel tubing from a patio umbrella stand, cut off a piece 8 inches long, hacksaw 2 slots in one end at right angles, down about 2 inches, pull down these 4 tabs and drill for a screw hole in each one. Fasten the flange to the bottom of the bowl, set the whole thing on a t-post, watch the birds!

Both the CD/DVD racks in my house used to be a desk..........
My new "desk" used to be an elementary school art table........hubby took the keyboard tray off old desk and put on the table........instant computer table!
That'a all I can think of at the moment.

Smokey, i did something similar with an old discarded aluminum pizza pan. Drilled drain holes in the bottom. When my MIL cleans out her parrot cages, she gives me the discards which is full of good seed the parrots throw on the cage bottom. I put it out on the pizza feeder and the blue jays have a buffet.

back when frontloading washers where not as modern, husband took the window out of a broken down one, it was the best, big salad bowl we ever had.

I used a pyrex baking pan to make a see-thru door for a barrel stove once, that was a long time ago. I had forgot all about it, lol.

I use plastic bowls from frozen "bowl food" that I bought a few years ago for cat food bowls, I've got four bowls and one sorta oblong plate. The dog eats out of an aluminum pan with handles on each side, don't know the original purpose as I found it somewhere and I think at one time it had a matching lid. Decorative basket I found is used for fresh fruit when I can afford to buy it.
