I fix sewing machines for folks.

Today a lady gave me a kenmore 158.9 to repair. Does anyone know where I can get a 1200 motor to fit the 158 series Kenmore machine? Sears doesn't make it and henceforth all these so called online sewing repair folks don't have it either as they're just reselling you Sears parts which I could have gotten from them in the first place if they were still available.

I'm more into industrial motors and larger motors, but try www.grainger.com they have a large selection. You need to have an account and show that you are a business, but that will be fairly easy.

This site:

has a 158.13033 - Motor for Kenmore
I don't know if that is what you need.

There's a Yahoo group called wefixit have you talked to them? Other than that, the link posted above by annabella1 is a good site,I've used them before.

Thanks,

The motor I'm looking for is obsolete but I found an outfit online that is in Texas and for sixty some bucks will fix me up with a motor I can revamp and get running. Now I'll get a new belt from Sears and hopefully the gal who owns the machine will be happy. It's going to cost a little more than we thought, but I'll cut my labor charge so she'll not be so upset. :)
