Well, my boss told me on Monday that he had to let me go at the end of this month because he just didnt have enough work to keep me busy. *Just when my finances were looking up! *It never fails. *
I am disappointed and getting stressed out. *I started looking for work that very morning. *One place i called will not even put a dent in my monthly bills. *I would have to work 4 jobs with that kind of pay. *I know i need to take what i can find but having to work triple jobs is ridiculous just to make ends meet. *I have an application for a plant but they said they like certifications and such. *BS!!!! *They hired someone there who had certification but no experience. *I HAVE some experience and a foot in the door but they probably want that stupid piece of paper anyway.
This is awful and i dont wish this on anyone. >:(

Jen I am so sorry to hear this! It's never a good time. Did he say if things might pick up? I know exactly how you feel and you are doing this alone!
Just remember - we have an extra bedroom at Deberosa II if I can only get it closed!
My heart is breaking for you girl...

Jen,
I am soooo sorry. I wish there was something I could do. But.. don't get too depressed. You will be able to file unemployment and although it may not be enough it will be something.
There has to be a silver lining somewhere. You've wanted to be where you didn't have to leave your new upcoming home. Maybe you can get some kind of work closer to your acreage and do okay in the long run? Maybe this is actually the opportunity you've been waiting for.
Let me know if I there is someway I can help.
Paul
P.S. I'll send you a pm.

Sorry to hear about your job, that makes it rough. But one thing about the people on this forum, from what I have been reading, they are all survivors and make it through all kinds of lifes challenges. Fugal living, gardening, getting by on less, making money. I know you'll make out like a champ! and there are always good people, like those who frequent this forum, who are willing to give a lending hand, when need be.
I'd say, "I wish you luck", but you won't need luck......but it is nice when it does come. ;)

I am also sorry to here of the job loss, but look at it from my point of view.
I was working one day, in the hospital that night, and then there for 3 or 4 weeks, can't even remenber now, but I was there a while.
Two or three later I ask the doc when I could go back to work. He almost laughed at me. Then he said, you'll never go back to work.
I told him he didn't know me, and he didn't.
He was right about me never going back to what I had done all my life.
Now I am learning to be a farmer. I can do that when I can do that. :)
Find something you can do. It could be worse than it is. I have gotten so close to loosing everything I could hear it blowing away.
But the more it blows, the harder you pray.
Put your trust in the Good Lord. He's right there beside you.
I really think he just patted me on the shoulder for typeing that. I'll leave it at that.
Prayers for you from Va.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and prayers. I have made a few more job contacts but nothing has come out of it. Im not giving up. About the only little thing I am happy about this whole thing is that I wont be working with the bosses whiney little tattle tailin' nephew anymore. He hasnt changed much still walking around thinking he still has some kind of authority. pfffft!

So sorry to hear about your job loss Jen. I hope and pray you find something soon, and that God has bigger and better things in store for you. I can see where it would be a relief to be away from the jerk! I bet the boss will be sorry to have you go and have to keep the nephew on!
Don't give up and remember we're all pulling for you!

Sorry to hear about the job loss, Jen. I will keep you in my prayers.
Right here is the best place to be, though! Where else can you find such supportive people...and good advice when you need it??
Hang in there.

I can really sympathize with you. *:-[
I've been an unemployed statistic since just after Christmas last year.
Worst part about it is that:
1.) the field I'm in relates to the construction field and I don't see it
* * getting any better around here.
2.) The job I worked at previously allowed me to bring my kids to work
* * with me so I didn't have to pay for daycare.
I've been trying to find a job as a school bus driver (I still have my License)
but even they're not calling me back. *:'(
I hope things get better soon but I'm trying to prepare in case it doesn't.
Now my husband (who worked 52 hrs a week) has had his hours cut back
to 32 hours. *:o
Wish I had started to stockpile food and stuff earlier. *:-/
I hope things get better for you soon :D
