I find this very interesting. Now lets say you owe the state some tax money. How do you think they would react if you didn't mail it to them on time? Yep, you would be in deep do do. Anyway I ran into this article and if you read down you will see what some folks might be doing to curb the problem when the state says it can't send you your refund.

Hey Madmac, seems that is happening everywhere. Here in MO we were told that if we didn't file quick when the money ran out it ran out.... I think if people aren't given the money they are owed they should consider it a break on their home owners taxes and all that good stuff and simply not pay it. Its just ridiculous, the whole damn situation and it burns me alive. if I don't pay my debts or mismanage my money, I lose my home, my car, have wages garnished, etc, etc, etc..... But let the government come in a say "Hey I can't pay you a dime, or the bills I owe now, but I need some money!!!" and they get it..... absolutely ridiculous!!!

Outrageous. How much more are folks going to tolerate?

If you don't give them too much money, you will not have to beg to get it back. Adjust the amount you have withheld from your paycheck, or lower the estimate on your quarterly statement; Then cut them a check at the end of the year.

That's how I am setup. Last year I owed them $280.00 but it sure felt good knowing they were not making money on my dime. This year won't be any better, probably around $350.00. I don't file till I have to and they don't get paid till it's due. Business as usual with the government.

As far as them not paying their debt, I think that should be paid with interest and late penalty fees just like the American citizen is faced with. Money owed is money owed.
