Native, a word of advice. Don't set in front of the computor in the dumps. You won't find a job here, unless it's growing maters, LOL.
I set here because I hurt. I take that little white pill and get up and find something to do if it's wrong. And I do that quite often too, LOL
I know how it feels as good as anyone how it feels to be out of work, but I have been luckey until I feel. I'd chance jobs all day long, get down in the dumps when I came home empty, and some how
It usually didn't take a week and a job would knock on the door.
I am still waiting on a I"M from Liz about the pulp wood plants in the area. Let you know when I hear something.
Take care
Dennis

I got laid off in January it wasn't really a surprise so I was kinda prepared for it and almost relieved. It was a horrible job and my boss and I had been butting heads almost since I started.

I got a little panicy a few days later, but then realized my preparation for an uncertain economy would serve me well during my lay off. I sat down and anaylized all my expenses and made adjustments to what ever I could. Then I spent a few days sleeping in, relaxing, reading and doing research on the net. After the first week I realized I was in no mental condition to even try to find a job so I decided to take off until the end of Feb. and get my head "right" before looking.

Someone said it on another thread... when a door closes a window opens and sure enough that is what is happening. It's only been 3 weeks and I've already gotten several offers for work at home type jobs, which is what I would like to do. One is so so pay, but another could be quite liveable. Even with these prospects I'm still sticking to my end of Feb. "ME" time, which dosen't seem to be a problem for any of them.

Now I do my work (house mostly) until noon, then I do for me. Learning new skills and improving old ones so when I'm able to move to my country place I'll be better prepared. I've even been able to get back to attending a garden lecture series Ihaven't been to in years.

It's amazing how my day fills up. This is the way life should be - a balance between what the Nearings called "bread labor" and time for self. At this rate I may never step into an office again - ever.

Good luck Native. I'm sure you'll find what's right for you. But, don't be surprised if after spending sooo much quality time with the kids it's hard to get back in the grind. The Universe may be trying to tell you something. My suggestion - pay attention. :D

Thanks Jen. I have learned that my list gets longer. I love doin for my family what I couldnt do in the grind. I come in at day end and feel good. No money can replace that. Terry
