Just WHO wrote those new mortgages? And an even BETTER question, WHY would they pay? They didn't pay before and they are STILL in their houses.
What a surprise that they

WASHINGTON – More than half of all homeowners who had their loans modified to make the payments more affordable in the first half of the year are already in default again, banking regulators said Monday.

OH YEAH...THis will make them PAY BY GOD!
Corzine called for a three to six month halt to foreclosures while the government works out a more aggressive plan.

This is where you can find the good news. I BUILT my house (still not done) piece by piece as I could AFFORD it. i have no mortgage because of patience and hard work. My house(farm) is valued at maybe 100K...most of these slobs just lied and cheated themselves into houses they couldn't afford and now I MUST ACCEPT THAT I HAVE TO PAY THEIR WAY.
This is CRAP.
Most of them have mortgages two or three times the value of my place and on top of it, they didn't have to BUILD IT THEMSELVES.
I'm starting to get pretty mad, how about you guys?

It's going to take a while to weed out the jokers in the home market. When I sell my current house(hopefully early next year), I'm gone to build my own small place pay-as-I-go. I'm also going to reduce my cost of living, and drop my income to where my tax is low or non-existant. So no living off of me you BUMS.......

LOL... Gregabob... I have already done it... except for the no taxes thing. I sell online and have no way to hide my sales. Also, my calf sales are not something I can hide. but I built with no mortgage. I dismantled two barns for the dimension lumber, siding (sheating for house), tongue-n-groove planks for from the milk parlor for the bathroom walls and the porch floor. I also helped dismantle a house over a hundred years old and got all the maple hardwood flooring...etc... etc.... My house has less than $5,000 in it and that includes the solar system and rainwater collection.

But, I will find enough expenses to keep my taxes to almost nothing as I do every year.
