I'll never make a boss

I tried to find which board this would go on and
couldn't find one so I put it here. Please move if
need be. I had my yearly reveiw at work today
with my new Boss. I have filed a greivence lately
with the Union on her so here was her chance to
tell me about it. I filed the greivance becasue she
is taking my job away from me by doing my work and
leaving me sitting at home. That is a big NO-No with
the Union. I have heard the same sob story the Post Office is going broke boo-hoo. We all need to give up
our hours so we can stay afloat. Oh yeah they all
got their bonuses this year? ANyway she tells me
today that she can not understand how I could file
a greivance against her she explained everthing to
me and I agreeded. ??? I agreeded to loose half
of my income per year so she can get a bigger bonus this Year? Yeah right. I told her to start with I would file a greivance if she started this crap. How do people
lie to your face and not feel one bit guily. Is that what
this world has come to its okay if you lie as long as
it is the best thing for you? How can I take a hit like
that and be happy. SHe also told me that if I want to move up into management I should have thought about
it before I filed the greivance. THey are shipping my of
to a office somewhere else to work so I have to drive
18 miles one way and there is no one in town in case my 13yr old daughter gets sick. I guess she can fend for herself so what if she gets left somewhere with no ride.
I don't think if that is what management does I want
to be in management. Actually I am beginning to think
working for the Post Office is a lot of crap anymore. SHe is finding things that I don't do well enough all the
time got told also that I waste lots of time. I have
been in the same office for 17 yrs and have always
been told that I could run the place if need be now all
of a sudden I am no longer needed and am wasting time? How does someone live with themselves and
justify screwing someone over that way. Have human beings really sunk that low? I want to quite working and move to the woods and never see people again.
They lie right to you face and don't even blink and eye.
My only hope as she is doing my job is that she has a
heart attack or stroke and ends up screwed up and then
I wonder if her bonus is going to help her. SHe is only
4 yrs from retirement so that makes her at least 60 yrs
old.
SOrry to ramble but I guess I am starting to loose all
hope that there are very many decent people left in the
world.

I would file another grievence about her threat to you. How dare she tell you that if you exercise your right to file a grievence you won't advance. The more paperwork she has against her the less her bonus will be.

Here's how: They don't give a damn about people.....they are just worried about paying their big fancy house and SUV payments.

If they have to lie and manipulate and crap on people to get ahead then they will. These are the kind of people that would stab their own mother in the back....and unfortunately, they are EVERYWHERE.

Especially Sickening, Gaggy old women who are retiring in 4 years!

I agree with you. The more complaints the less she should get for a bonus. I think she would screw over
her own kids to get a bonus. In fact her last son was
home and she took a job in a town 60 miles from their
house. It sounds like she spent more time doing her work off the clock by staying in a hotel and payng for it herself so she could look good then going home to her
family. He was a senior in High school just like my son
I wanted to spend as much time with him and see his
accomplishments in school before he went of to college.
Half way threw he sons senior year she volunteered for temp position 3 1/2 hours away from their home .
I guess you just have to figure out what is important
in your life. TO me it is my children. Yes the paychecks
are nice but my kids come first. It should not be a suprise then that she sees nothing wrong with taking my job. WHen I get back from this temp position they are sending me on I don't know if there will even be a job for me. SHe is lying and saying that half of my job
no longer exists. I think that I am going to start looking
into another kind of job. I should have alot of time in the
small office they are sending me to I only had 5 customers in 8 hours of work the other day. :'( Everyone tells me to take a book to read. YOur are not supposed to be reading while you are working. THey are looking for an excuse to get rid of me that would truly
be one. Maybe I could order lots of seed catalogs for next years garden I do get a hour long lunch break.

Having 17+ years tenure, don't let that skank beat you out of your retirement... You can go for in just about 3 years - stand on your head, what-ever it takes to beat her at her own game. As voiced before, put that union to work for you every chance you get - that is what those dues you've been paying all these years are for!!! And if it isn't a stretch, get you union rep to be a witness to any future "conversations" with her as well. Are there "Shop Stewards" in the postal unions?

THere are shop stewards but we don't have one in our
office. It is a small office with only twelve people
working there. Maybe I should become one and
use my time at the new office they are sending me to
to read up on all the rules ;).

Hi frfredux,

Yes I think you are right. SHe tells me how to do everything now. If I am unloading something she
thinks I should do something else first. If I am dispatching she comes out and starts doing my work
for me. I told her last night I don't need your help
I have been doing this for along time. SHe used to work in my office 4 yrs ago. When she started I trained
her. SHe was a PTF clerk and I was only a temp employee. SHe has been sucking up ever since I met
her. However she was a clerk then and wanted her hours the same as me. My anger mgm specialist told
me there is more to this then someone just wanting to
get a bonus. He thinks she doesn't like that I can run the office just as well if not better then her. I can say
though that she has butt kissing down a hell of
a lot better then I ever will so see she is still going to
be the queen butt kisser. SOmething to be proud of. ;)

Hey Zachweiss,

Here is a joke for you. How many Postal employees
does it take to transfer a office.? FIve. That is how many people it is going to take to transfer that little
bitty Post Office tomarrow. I have to be there and then
there will be two butt kissers to transfer it(MANGEMENT)
the PMR to run the window while we are all busy, then the dip stick they are taking out of the office. Sounds like a whole lot of crap to me. I went to a small office
to work the other day and almost went crazy because
there was nothing to do. SO how much money so you think they are saving by having 5 of us there tomarrow?
You got to love a place that bitches about going broke
and then they are going to pay five people to be in office the size of my toilet. :'( You gotta love that Magement mentality. THey can't let me keep my job
when I am actually working but we can all get paid for standing around with our fingers up our noses.

Since the advent of the computer the postal service is hurting. I can e-mail with a web cam in a nano secound but it costs me 45+ cents to mail a letter in town that takes a day to go three miles ? go figure. When I have had to go to the post office you better not be one second late because when it says they close at 4 oclock thats what they mean. Although they don't seem to mind opening up ten minutes late.

get through the mail. ANd yes our full time window clerk
was late opening the Window just the other day. She
was standing inthe back talking so the other PTF and
I asked of she was going to open the WIndow or not.
SHe ignored us and we went and asked the Post Master she just walked away also. I did fnd out in the
new office they moved me to today that the reason
they were given for me being transferred to their office
is because I am giving the New Post Master trouble.
How is trying to keep my job causing trouble? I hope
that this comes back to bite her in the a##. SHe is using it to make her resume look better. SHe is the one
who transferred the office. And she is going to be my
trainer? SHe doesn't know anymore about running their office then I do. Screw this crap I am going to save up my money and start a green house business.
I am sick of working for this bunch of butt wholes.
I have busted my butt for them for 17 yrs and now i
am getting screwed by that piece of scum. SHe wants that dam job so bad she can stick it. I guess that is what this world is coming to if you have any morales or
act like a human being then they kick you to the curb.
Maybeif I was a bigger a-whole I would fit right in.

becky, this might help you. When my husband had a particularly loony supervisor that would issue commands that were inane, when he complied a little while later when everything was fouled up (as he knew it would be ), she'd ask him why he'd do such a thing. Pretty funny huh? No, I guess not really.
So I suggested to him that when she made a loony request he tell her sure, but please write it down so he could be sure he got it right. after the first few times, she stopped making him make "mistakes".

Hi Fnfredux,

Sorry to here your husbandhas such a dip stick for a
boss. I know the stress from that can drive you up a tree. I was back at my original office to work this weekend. I was talking to some of the other employees
they told me that while I am gone the boss is going to
eliminate the afternoon portion of my job. I guess she is going to do all of the work in the office herself. Lies , lies and more lies. People now days I think lie so much that they actually beleave what they say.
