FDIC insurance is a scam though anyway. They only have to restore your money in a 'reasonable' time... there is no defined time on how fast they have to repay you, or that the currency they give you has any value. If the economy tanks, and your bank folds, sure your deposit is insured... but if the dollar is worthless, then the government won't mind printing up some bills, or rerouting bills that were headed for destruction and giving them to you... think post WWII Germany where they were burning paper currency to stay warm.
