Fall Colors

Our colours were spectacular this year (although they're pretty spectacular every year, lol). Alas, they were over and done with at least three weeks ago, and I did not have my camera with me the last few times we drove out to our cabin...

We're expecting snow tonight. :(

Just drove back last night after spending a long weekend celebrating my Birthday with my sweetheart, in Yosemite Nat'l Park. It was his first time there, and we were gifted with a magnificent sample of God's glory and majesty - various hues of yellows, reds and orange, and even a mild sprinkling of snow! It was a perfect time to come visit the Park, reduced prices, very small crowds, no noise, peace and quiet, with occasional glimpses of deer, coyote, and other small creatures. Sometimes black bears make an appearance, but we didn't get to see them on this trip!

Climbing and hiking to the top of Half Dome was closed for the season, but one of the hikes we did was the hike up to the top of Vernal Falls, which is about a 3 mile roundtrip, and it involves climbing up some serious steps-700 granite, steep stairs! The breathtaking fall colors, the various waterfalls, the sheer cliffs(including El Capitan) cut out by glaciers, the vistas, WOW what a glorious place!!!
