View Full Version : U.S. going broke
If you have a business, your object is to make money not lose it.
If you have a family budget, like most of us do, your object is to earn more than you spend.
Simple isn't it. Well, our leadership hasn't figured that out yet. They spend more than they earn. That is simply bad business.
Shouldn't we vote in leaders who can earn more for our country than they spend? That way we can have an intelligent country rather than one that doesn't know how to turn a simple profit.
I just don't think it would be that hard to do. Live within your means.
Peace,
But its not "their" hard earned "money" they are spending, why in the world would they care? To them its no more then a slop trough for them to play with and dispense as they see fit.
Shame on us for filling the trough.
Government should not be in "business" at all, their sole responsibility IMHO is to protect our natural rights to liberty and represent the people. Managing any finances the government requires?, well thats a necessary evil I guess, and is delegated to congress. Unfortunately they do not really come and get our permission anymore on this subject.

If you think about it, most of the U.S. population is living above their means. With credit cards and mortgages. Most people my age all have new cars, new houses and their kids have every thing they could ever ask for and more.
It's become an "instant society". Teen-agers driving brand new cars, parents footing the bill, ect. ect.Why should the gov. be any different?Society as a whole accepts this type of behavior. The only difference is when mommy and daddy go bankrupt they loose every thing.Politicians just go on vacation!

A man in our church sells cars. Said some really sad cases come through his dealership - single females with under $30,000 income buying SUVs. One man - $18,000 UPSIDE down in a car loan - wanting a NEW car.....
If we can't live responsibilty we won't ask our govt to - so the govt is a reflection of its people. Maybe we spend too much time trying to change the govt when we should be trying to change people?

Good point,
Either way you slice it, the people are reflection of their government, or the government is a reflection of its people.....we are in dire straits.
I agree the change must and needs to begin in the mirror, or sovereignty will never be achieved.
Step one as ludicrously simple as it sounds is.... TV discrimination, turn it off or tune it in to something worthy of ones time. Flash back 60 years, America, this is your brain, this is a television, Flash forward to present, America this is your brain on TV, any questions??

jeff that all makes way too much sense to expect government to run a budget like a bidness. hell even a crack dealer understands this. yeah 333 its not their money either so why should they care? it would be nice if there was a way to force a balanced budget but thats too hard to do when your politicians first priority is to get re-elected.
333 you also hit on something important. i dont let the media make the decision for me on who i vote for either. they may inform me on this or that but i dont need rush limbaugh, sean hannity or chris mathews to explain anything to me. i already get it.

oh & one other thing guys.....i think most of the people in the BWH forum knows what a hard days work is all about, & the rewards that go with it along with the conviction it takes to do that hard days work. we may disagree about this or that but most of us do it the hard way. we pay attention to politics because of the sacrifices we & our ancestors made & we appreciate those sacrifices.
