I read as much as I can on all related Steve, and most say it is simply not worth the risk. If we were in a poker game for nickels and dimes, would it be wise to tip our hand ? The stakes here are probably much greater. There was a time when things were different, but it is long since gone, and it ain't coming back.
Even though there is no visible address on a post, for those in the know, ones location can now be pinpointed, a map printed, with grid coordinates, to a GPS device, and bingo, knocking on your door, or worse, knocking it down, in a matter of minutes. ;)

I'm not so concerned about anyone knowing that I own guns, however you are raising a critical point that this is a PUBLIC forum to which others, including law enforcement can visit. I would discourage those people that mention they've stocked 50K of rifle primers, or figured out how to convert their mini-14 to full auto. I've read that at least one poster said they got a knock on the door from local law enforcement after mentioning shooting a deer that might have been out of season. You may be not doing anything illegal, but given the perception you are, you might be bringing a multitude of hassles down upon yourself that you will have to dig your way out of!

nobody on here that i know of owns guns, and if they did, the guns would be disassembled, in a locked case, high up on a shelf, in a vault, underground, in a location where children and criminals will not go.

Mine have all been stolen or sold for gas money.
Probably having had an FFL I would be a person of interest if they were inclined to start snooping??
I dont really think its a bad Idea. Ive posted a lot of stuff on firearms online here and on Gunboards.
If I post a pic of a firearm I own I make sure to cover up the Serial Number, thats about it.
Besides that?

Some we talk about and others we don't. The ones a do talk about had to be registerd anyhow.

Since I work in a gun store and open carry there and talk about CC all the time I don't have much to worry about. As far as worrying about someone with ill intent knowing about my having guns, I think that they will want to choose a target that is not armed as opposed to one that is.
I do tend to agree that it isn't a good idea to talk about what you have stockpiled and what your intentions are if TSHTF. I think it better to cross that bridge when it comes and not tell all your plans.

I'll talk about weapons (I learned in 1968 not to call 'em guns) on this board or the others I frequent. I will admit to owning certain particular makes and models.
After all, if someone here desires knowledge, I will share my experience. To do any less would be at cross purposes to what this forum is for.
The BATFE, and DHS, and any other alphabet agency can easily find out what I have bought. With over 50% of American households owning firearms they aren't going to waste their time on me anyway.
I value my 2nd Amendment rights too much to throw them away by owning any weapon that's not legal, and in fact, 2 of my step sons are cops anyway.

Here Here, I don't really like alot of people knowing what I have, but it does not frighten me because I to have only legal weapons.
On a diifferent note, whats the general opinion out there on the moisin nagant? M

I use to collect allot of surplus rifles, Mosin Nagants are great rifles. I still have 7 Mosin Nagants of diffrent makes. Some people say they are junk, I love them inexpensive, rugged, fairly simple, they chew up old surplus ammo(dont forget to clean the corrosive stuff) and most can be picked up at gun shows for under $100. A true truck/trunk gun it is. Pick up a M44.

I collect milsurp weapons, from Mauser K98, to Springfield 03A3, to Garand, Carbine, etc.
In COMBLOC I have, among others, a Mosin Nagant 91/30, and an M44. The Mosins are inexpensive, lots of fun, and very rugged. The only drawback is the trigger. They are certainly good enough for combat, but are definitley not target grade rifles. I can bounce 20 oz Pepsi bottles all around the berm at 50 yards, and that's good enough for me. ;D
Ammo is cheap and readily available, altho it's gone up since the Iraq war. Wolf brand can usually be found for around $6 per box of 20. A couple of years ago I scored some 300 round tins of 1954 Bulgarian surplus for $48 each.
I highly recommend Mosin Nagant rifles. Everybody should have at least one! ;D (Beware, they are addicting)
Hey here is a good artical on the Mosin Nagant.

I used to like to talk about what I had. But with the changes in government we've seen in the past six months I am now an advocate of keeping my lip zipped. I will say, however, that I can and will protect myself and my loved ones.

I had to sell my guns to buy gas and keep up with "the Jones" since I did not get a stimulus check.

I have seen some folks on forums use the entire signature to list the firearms they own. This I think is silly at best and I am sure he thinks his array of six long guns and Bryco .22 will keep the world safe at night. Heck the Russians may read his forum no need to worry now they know Bubba is ready for em so they call off the invasion.
There are millions and millions of people with PC's or access to one either in the local library or the prison they are locked up in. I cannot see the BATFE tracking down gun owners by computer unless they are involved in some other illegal activity. There are just too many cases for them to work without looking in a forum.
So list your guns, list a few that you don't have but would like to get one day, put on your favorite Hitler T-shirt and type away you arm chair borne commando you know whos in charge of this country and they ain't going to take away the guns on your watch.

Weapons are nothing more than tools. Protection, hunting, or target shooting, unless you own weapons that have no paper, the Feds already know what you have.
I use this as a concealed carry weapon, glad I stocked up on ammo before this crunch, hard to buy enough ammo to stay competent these days, guess reloading is a must these days.

Not at all, my bad for not including it. It is a .40 S&W, I figured a good compromise between a 9mm, ( too light to fast ) and the .44Mag DE that I sold because you couldn't afford to buy enough ammo to stay sharp.

I don't worry about it too much. Someone would have to want our stuff really, really badly to go to the trouble of figuring out who we and where we live, travel all the way here, and make it through the doors, us, the dogs and the safe.
We just don't have enough to be targets for a rational person.
And even an irrational person is unlikely to get through 500 pounds of Great Danes. :D

It appears that you are assembling quite an arsenal of saws. You should be careful or the National Arbor Day goons might show up unannounced!

With long guns, all they know is that you have one or more, nothing more. And since you can buy more than one on one form here in CA, they don't know how many either. I'd like to keep it that way. :D
