I want to get my husband a subscription to a gun magazine (handguns) for his birthday.
Can anyone recommend a good one?
Thanks

Guns and Ammo, would be my first choice. I just got a card in the mail from them for 2 years for $15. I don't know if you could also get in on the deal, I would call and tell them you heard about it. 1-800-800-2666

If he's interested in handguns only, try combat handguns magazine
"Shotgun news"
I like it, good historical articals and lots of articals on surplus firearms and equipment.

Take advantage of the discount coupons.
Go to Barns and Noble, Boarders, or other book store that handles sporting magazines and get a handle on what issues are available.
Pick one and there will usually be a coupon for a big discount on a years subscription. Use it. Then next year try another magazine.
In the mean time, every other month or so buy a single copy of something different. Give yourself a little variety.
In our area Half Price Books has a lot of monthly magazines available for a discount price.
Enjoy

The best mag for handgun guys is American Handgunner. Best all around is it's sister publication Guns.
They both have columns you won't see anywhere else written by the best in the biz.
Guns And Ammo is a little too metrosexual for my taste. Too many plastic handguns and rifles.
Just my opinion, of course.

Tough to say what is best, depends on what ur looking for. As for the price, I do amazon.com. I seem to find some decent deals there.

Gun Report. They will tell you if a firearm is bad. Not gloss over any short comings to please their advertisers.

Ahh! Good ol American Handgunner! You'll love it, I especially enjoy the columns by Conner (cause I'm a vet), Clint Smith, Venterino & Taffin (cause I like the old stuff).
I mean, where else are ya gonna find articles about 44 Special revolvers right next to the latest plastic fantastic?
Have fun!
