I have never had any unique guns but one I saw advertised was interesting. There was a kit you could buy that would convert two 10/22 barrels to a gatlin gun. you just turned the hand crank and the reciever would alternate between the two barrels. You could hold it or mount it on a tripod base that came with it.

Flatwater, I got to play with one of those once. We got one in used and I just HAD to take it home and try it out. Lots of fun, but my dad wasn't happy about the bald spot in his backyard, lol. I burned up a brick of cheap 22's in about 20 minutes.

Unique, hmmm.....
I got to handle a Perazzi shotgun once that cost more than my house, and a Quigley model Sharps that a customer special ordered. I coulda married that thing.... A guy I worked with there had one of the origional Pasadena 44 Automags, that thing was a blast to shoot.
I've never owned anything all that unique other than a few custom guns, but I'll rank my dad's old 10 guage up there on the list. It's a Kassnar 10 guage double barrel, 30 inch full & full. Fun to shoot-even more fun to let someone shoot that doesn't know whats coming. ;D

Over the years i've owned or still own quite a few "unique" guns...

I've owned several of those automags, in both 44 and 357... I still have the dies to make the brass, and to reload the cases... I wasn't too impressed with them, and they are long gone...

How about a Browning T-bolt 22? Yes they were once common, and they now make them again. You don't see many left hand ones though... I have a LH model, AND i also have a "one of a kind" near exact copy of a LH T-bolt that is a "centerfire"... It's chambered for 25/20WCF...

Ever heard of a S&W "K" frame revolver chambered in 44 spl.?? How about one chambered in 25/20WCF??

My buddy has a Ferlach "Veerling" that i've messed with some. For those of you that don't know what a Veerling is. (pronounced "Fear ling") It's a four bbled gun, actually a side by side shotgun with a small caliber rifle bbl under the rib, and a larger caliber bbl under and between the shot bbls... It's VERY nice and weighs 6-3/4 pounds.

How about this Krieghoff?

There are several more, but that's a good start...

DM, you post that pic and every time I want to wet myself, so is it for sale?

Anyway, I have a custom .225 Win, based on a Mauser '98 frame, that has an custom "Boots" Obermeyer barrel, built in the 1960's.
He is still around and I had him send me his records of this barrel.

I have to believe that this is the "only one like it, anywhere".

I like odd, Unique and stopgap type firearms.

I think the most "Unique" or odd firearm I have is a Garcia Bronco Shotgun in .410,

I wrote about it awhile ago.

Nice, very nice!
Man, you really know how to rub it in.............anyway,
LOL, I hear ya.
How about putting me in your will?

Actually I know of some one that has one, though I don't think he has the .22 insert.
He is sorta one way about his also. Won't put me in his will, as he figures I shoot him.

I'll keep my eyes open...............

My dad had a Stevens Pocket Rifle, 22 rimfire. It was like a very long barreled derringer (10"). Don't know what ever became of it, but it was fun to shoot. There was an attachment place for a "wire" stock but he never had one.

My dad had one similar that he made out of an old stevens 22 , It has a legal barrel (18 inches) lever action single shot. After he died I was supposed to get it but my older brother said it was missing. A few years later I saw it in his house. Go figure. I have one though that I made out of an old ithica single shot 410, works great to pack around for grouse or snakes.

I have had or seen quite a few unique guns and some quite odd things too,but the little .22 pen gun was kinda different and I had for a short time a Sako deluxe in .224 Russian which research says there are only about 3 of, sold it to a guy who had another and wanted to own them all..

I have both, the 22 Win. Mag. and the 22LR inserts for this one. They are pretty handy, and shoot very well!

Among other things, i also have several inserts to subchamber the 8mm bbl, and slide in sleves to turn the 16ga. into 20ga...

At 7 pounds, this thing is a joy to carry!

Very cool.
I guess the closest to that, would be the H&R/NEF Handi rifles with multi barrels. (10 barrels)
Of course they aren't on the gun all at the same time. LOL

I really like the Handi's, and find my self picking one up, more often than not, even though I do have a lot of other choices.
(so many thing to hunt, so little time)

Lots of folks seem to like those handi's, but if you want the next step down from a drilling, then i'd say the Valmet 412 is it!

They are a solid firearm that was built in Findland, That came here as combi's, shotguns and double rifles.

http://www.fototime.com/0F2C5AA54A52A0A/standard.jpg

Thing is, you could buy the "other" bbl. sets for your 412 action and there were at least "26" different bbls offered!!

I know there's still some offered as new, or even still new in the box too! ;)

http://www.fototime.com/835D291617EA1F5/standard.jpg

They are outstanding guns, that are worth the asking price!!

I hunted with one for many years before i got my old drilling, and i can tell you, on average they are very accurate and reliable...

Anyway, when it comes to versatility in a hunting gun, these things blow the handi off the map...

They appear a little pricey, from what I've seen.
I keep my eyes open for the drilling.
Of course if something comes along........... always looking for a deal.

And in the mean time keep playing with my Handis.

The first set-up w/ rifle (.243) and 9 other barrels was about $700 bucks.
Working on another set based on the .223.

And that's more $$ than what a decent 412 would cost with an extra set of bbls or two... IF you look around...

LOL, I guess that's a good term for it.

I shot a guys 45/70 Springfield out at the range, always wanted one, but couldn't justify $1500+.
So when I was ordering up the barrels, I added a 45/70 barrel, was $55 bucks at the time.
Poor mans Springfield.

I also heard of a 28 ga shotgun, I would guess for doves? Anyway I got one of those also, for $35 bucks.

The .410 barrel has a choke insert, so you can shoot .410 and 45 long colt (with the rifled insert)

This has been a fun project and am starting on a second Handi this one is in .223.
