every store i go to around were i live i cant find a good cheap pistal so im lookin for some help to see if any one knows were to get a .22 pistal cheap but still legal like the right paper work or if some is selling one them selves?
Check the local papers and hang out in the gunshops. Bargains are out there, but require looking around a bit. Keep cash on hand ready for the purchase. Good luck

What do you consider cheap as far as price range?
I went to a gun show and picked up a .22 Revolver for $75. ITs not the best thing around, targets past 12 feet are better just to stand still so the bullet dosent hit them. Heres my post from awhile ago about the thing.

Another cheaper pistol is the Russian Nagant.

I have one I bought it with a bunch of guys on a group buy for $75 also. *ITs best to use it in single action, since the trigger pull is around a 20 lb. in *double action.
The ammo is hard to get and most of the time its corrosive.
I have read and seen people shoot, 32 S&W Long ammo out of the pistol but I never have done it. Ill soon switch over to using it though.
I know they made the Nagant in .22 for training but they are pretty pricey.
ITs a good pistol and packs more of a punch than the .22 and is probley cheaper than most .22 youll find out there.
Regardless hit up a gunshow, I always see tons of .22 pistols kicking around.
Here is a good site to check out smaller hand guns, allot in smaller calibers.

Good luck!

cheap to me is anything a bit over a hundered and down i want to get a small .22 for some fun and for trapping an allso i want something quite and the .22 is the only one i know of thats pretty quite
You can get smaller over-and-under derringers for under a $100 in .22
Id say next gun show in your town look around it. I was looking for the same basic .22 pistol for plinking, protection and trapping.
The thing also works best in Single action also. It also misfires in double action once in awhile.

I'm guessing that you're looking for a Handgun, be it a pistol or a revolver? In pistols, be wary of brands like Jennings. Stick with names like Ruger.
In revolvers, you can often find Hi-Standard or H&R at good prices.

Auction Arms (http://www.auctionarms.com/)
Generally cheaper than many of the other firearm auction services. Use the search feature in order to find what you want.

I always advise never NEVER get a cheap gun. At least get one at a reasonable price. There are plenty of them out there. Treat a gun as an investment. Cheap guns seem to misfire or lock up just when your in danger.

Is this common usage for "pistol", isn't any hand gun a pistol? Is pistol a local use for an automatic hand gun? Just curious about the terminology...
(Pistol: noun: a short firearm intended to be held and fired with one hand.)
Thanks, Tufhelp

Here's a Wikipedia link that explains the differences between "pistol" and "revolver", particularly the multiple senses of the word "pistol":

You get what you pay for. I won't own a cheap gun. Save your money and get something descent.
My idea of a .22 revolver is a S&W 617 or 63. If you want an old Harrington and Richardson, that is ok. There are other inexpensive revos, but stay away from cheap crap.

I wouldnt trust my life on the little Saturday Night special .22 I have. It was a compulsive buy.
Not a .22 but I dig the Nagant. I have a buddy that carries his when backpacking.

DocSoos. Thx for posting my bail. ;D
I didn't intend to cause any confusion... Really.

Wasn't any "confusion" really. I was merely interested if “pistol” in your part of the country meant an automatic since your post seemed to differentiate between a "pistol" and a revolver, that’s all...

Hey tuf. No problem. I guess we can blame it on my gunsmithing instructor in an Oklahoma college *:D .
He absolutely detested the interchangabilty of the terms and let us know so on the first day! Thank you, Joe Craig (RIP).
Edit: Thinking back to those days I seem to recall Joe saying that, years ago, before semi-autos, it wasn't an issue. Now that there are two distinct forms - it's a 'handgun' until a distinction is made. It must be a 'smith thang. ;)

Mornin' Guys. I have a friend that is looking for a 1911-A1, and is not having any luck. If anyone has a lead on one for a reasonable price, please shoot me a PM. Preferably Springfield Armory, but will consider any make, very good condition, and of course, a bill of sale.
thanks, rick
sorry 'bout the long tail on this post, ??

it's always nice to have some "cheap crap" around - especially if you can pick it up for little or nothing -
you can never tell when some crackpot lib group will have a gun buy-back that might net you 75 or 100 dollars per each piece of "cheap crap" you turn in -
i think it's sweet revenge when the gun grabbers end up paying for a decent addition to my collection -
