I was thinking of adding a Laser to my gun. Looking around as to what I wanted I found a company in the city I live in. Here in Arizona being one of the more pro gun states there is a company called Laserlyte. I went to the office intending to check out their products first had. The first thing I see on the door is a NO FIREARMS SIGN. To me it doesn't get anymore hypocritical then to have a business selling gun accessories and have an Anti Gun Policy. I for one will never buy and products they make. If you agree with me pass the word on all the forums your on. If you feel i'm wrong in my feeling so strong let me know

Ask them about it. A friend of mine went into one of their stores about a year ago and mentioned the sign, they said they finally had to put them up because they had several people walk into their stores and pull out their gun when telling the employees what model/make thy needed accessories for.
I have heard of people being asked to leave (though the locations around me don't have signs and I have never been approached) stores such as Bass Pro, Cabelas, Dicks and others for suspicion that these folks were carrying concealed weapons...when they asked why they were told basically the same thing. They had too many idiots pulling out their loaded (or possibly loaded) weapons as if there were no problem with it.
A lot of idiots think that if they are in a gun or gun related store, then it doesn't need to be concealed anymore.
So I would ask them. If they say that is not the reason, and do not give a valid reason, then I would have to side with you. Until then I have to assume my friend was told the truth, that they have a very good reason for posting these signs. Just like every other aspect of life, the few idiots ruin everything for the majority who are responsible, safe and mature.

I did ask them about it. They said the sign isn't an anti gun sign. I told them BS that they are in the wrong state they should be in CA instead of Arizona

Next time you are in your favorite gun store, ask the staff how many times they have unloaded firearms brought in buy customers. Customers that just wanted an new widget or a repair and pointed a loaded firearm right at the clerk. cuz ya know they jus had a question.

You have no idea how often that really happens! Before I got into my current trade, I spent 9 years at a gun shop, and at least once a month, I was handed a loaded firearm over the counter. The worst by far was when someone brought in a 22 ruger mk2 to sell, pulled it out of the zipper case, and shot a hole through the glass showcase. Another time someone brought in about 12 different weapons from an estate and wanted to sell them...apparantly grandpa kept everything loaded and they never checked a single one....not much out there scarier than someone pulling a loaded garand out of the case muzzle first toward you...I remember another one "hey man, the safety dont work on this here mossberg"......4 slugs in the tube when he handed it to me.
So, I can fully understand this place and the sign thats posted cause I have been there. Companies not to buy from is another.....try Pepsi and Kraft foods, sarah bradys 2 biggest contributors at one time. Nothing burns my biscuits more than seeing someone in an NRA hat drinking a mt. dew.

I know it from personal experience myself. Worked for six months at a gun store in Denver. Loaded rifles all the time, less hand guns.

Asking the shop owner if you can bring in your peice is just common courtesy. Every time ive taken mine to a shop for any reason ive left it in the truck, asked, then brought it in cleared and in its case. then both myself and the salesman verify that its cleared. Some even have a sign on the door instructing patrons to unload and clear their wepons before entering.
