Hey Y'All,
I've got a Glock 21 running 45 ACP and I'm wondering how much trouble is it to swap barrels to the 9mm?
could I pick up a 9mm barrel and keep it around as a spare to switch to If I couldn't find any 45 ACP ?
Like after teotwawki.
Do I need to change mags also?
Just a thought.
Thanks for any input,

Sorry Capt, but i think you're SOL with the .45. Swapping between 9mm, .40SW, and .357 Sig works because they ALL use the same frame. The .45 Frame is a little bit larger iin all dimensions. While there probably IS a barrel out there that will fit, your big problem will be the magazines, 9mm is significantly smaller than .45 and the feed lips of the magazine will NOT retain the 9mm casings.

Another problem with .45 to 9 mm swap it the breech face will be too large for the extractor to catch the rim and for the ejector to kick the cartridge out. A .40s&w/.357sig to 9 mm won't work for the same reason. There are guns out there that are convertible between those calibers but they require you to change not only the barrel but the slide, magazine, and maybe the recoil springs.

Thanks guys Thats what I was afraid the answer would be.
I guess I'll just "HAVE" to buy a 9mm to have handy "in case".
;D
You can do that with a M1911 if it's already in 9MM, .38 Super, etc. Something with the same or near same case head size.

Dont think you can swap. The mags wont fit also. You could probably switch it to 10mm though!!
