I don't know why, but the last several Ruger revolvers that I've came across have been shooting wide. The rear sights have been cranked all the way to the left or right just to get them on target. Two still weren't able to get a proper zero because the sight couldn't move far enough to do so. Three of the guns were owned by experienced shooters that also use other guns and don't have this problem. I've never had this problem with a S&W or Colt, not that it doesn't happen.

What gives?

Interesting. My GP-100 shoots right on, but my Taurus shoots low & to the left. The Taurus has fixed sights so it's a problem.

Double action revlovers? Right handed? . . . . check your trigger finger. Odds are you are pulling it that way from your trigger finger- and the problem is MORE pronounced due to the extra tension necessary to take it through the double action.

I set one more student correct this week with the same problem. 9/10 shots he was missing because they were to the right. Now the ratio is reversed- for 30yards and a small paper plate.

O'course that is just my opinonion not having seen you shoot or handle the gun myself. :)

My new Birdhead .32H&R shoots low/right. Shoots a little closer to center using .32 S&W longs.
Still, I have to mentally compensate until I get irked enough to grab a file & hammer to correct the sight.

I was shooting single action from a sand-bagged sitting rest. Right after that, I tore the center out of the bullseye with a different brand revovler. For once, I can honestly say it ain't me, it's the gun.

Yup.
It does happen. Even with the best manufacturers, but most of my Rugers have been tack drivers.
I wish there were more loadings for the .32H&R/S&W longs. (I don't reload, yet.)
I've had .22's that simply had to have the right fodder to make one hole groups in paper.
Some guns just simply won't digest certain ammo types.
I had a NEF SS rifle in .45-70, absolutely refused to print Federal ammo. Switched to Remingtons & alleviated the prob.
Good luck.

DSW Sharon & I have about half a dozen around here, in SA & DA.
All have fixed sights. All shoot right on the money.
Sometimes, a little lower or higher with one load or the other.

The only real problem I ever had with a Ruger, was an SP101, I bought used, a year or two ago. It looked new.
Got box, papers & all.

After about a year I found, whilst cleaning. I could rotate the cylinder backward, across the cylinder stop.
I called their Service department. They directed me to ship it back.
I shipped Fed-EX Overnight. With the insurance, it cost $45, to ship.
They replaced the cylinder stop, a spring or two, and the pawl.
Within 4 weeks, I had it back, shipped at their charge.

No Cost, for the Repairs. I got a card a month later asking me to call a 1-800 number, with any comments.
I told them it was great.
So, all it cost was the shipping. Not Bad.
I'll always buy Ruger.

I'd heard that they have a good record like that with customers.

Have Ruger look at it. I, too, have had them repair stuff at NO charge. All I was out was some shipping. ;D
