View Full Version : Flea market KBAR
I saw an old KBAR in the flea market, so I bought it for $12 to use as a "beater" so I don't thrash my new KBAR. It's very worn from years of sharpening and not pretty. But it has a saw on the top of the blade. Because of the saw, I'm starting to suspect it might be a rare one.
Has anyone heard of a saw-blade KBAR?

More than likely what you own is a Kabar "Pilots"
knife that is/was issued to all aircrew members.
That "saw" back is to help aircrew/pilots hack
their way through the aluminum skin of a *
downed plane. Foot soldiers got the longer plain
back karbar. *
*
These knives can also be bought on the open
market yet today. Camillus knife co. has always *
been the primary provider of these knives with *
a few being made by kabar or Ontario knife co.

I've been used KA-BARs go for between $30 and $60 at knife shows esp. the Blade Show in Atlanta.
