As a veteran knife collector I can tell you that
all Spydero knives are premium quality knives.
Spyderco design's so many different knives
that one has to be careful to get the correct
design for the desired task.
That said the only way you could be unhappy
with Spyderco is to pick the wrong knife.

On a more personal note....
Of all the blade lock types ever invented I prefer the
"lockback" design the most. If you'll note Spyderco
does also as many of their knives are of the "lockback"
design. *To me the "liner lock " is a missing finger
waiting to happen when it fails.
Added........
It's been awhile since I poked around the Spydrco site to
see what's new and am VERY pleased to see that Spyderco
has brought back my favorite everyday knife. This knife isn't
what most Americans think of as a "pocket knife" but I can
tell you that the blade shape is exactly correct for everyday
tasks. When it's in your hand it becomes and extension of
your hand to cut with.

(Oh yes, I forgot to mention.....AVOID ANY knife that has a
blade of ATS-34 steel. This steel was a darling of the knife
industry for awhile but Joe Average can't resharpen the
blade as this steel is TO hard.)
i was looking at the cara cara.they have most of what i'm looking for in a folder. :)

This summer it will be three years since I rolled my AMC Jeep Cherokee. It was my fault, because I was on the cell phone and driving. After the truck stopped flipping I found myself hanging upside down. I was on a rural road here in Alabama and I didn't know when I would see another else. I had remembered to carry my Spyderco Recuse with me that day and it was in my left pocket. I was able to get to it and cut the lap and shoulder belts and crawl out of the vehicle thru the window. I still carry that same knife.
