Hey All, I went to the knife store yesterday looking for a good fixed blade. I ended up with a KBAR. After doing some research and looking at a few in person, I thought it was the best value for the dollar. Plus it looks tough. Here's a link to the knife I bought:

https://www.kabar.com/product_detail.jsp?productNumber=1211&mode=categor y&categoryId=1,2,3,7&categoryName=Military/Tactical

Anyone have any luck with these new KABARS? Thanks, -Matthew

Uncle, thanks for the feedback. The prices on the website are inflated compared to the stores. That's why I went with it, I thought it was a great deal, had good history and made in the USA.

I've had a K-Bar pilots knife for at least 20yrs now. What a great knife! It only has a 5inch blade but is just heavy enough for light chopping but small enough for more tricky tasks. For a hard-working, all purpose survival/utility knife that doesn't break the bank I don't think you can go far wrong with a K-Bar. Nice find.

and made in the USA.

That one is indeed, but not all are.
I have a tiny Kbar Little Finn. Knife is from Taiwan, sheath(garbage) is from Mexico.

I have one real old one, from my twenties.
Got a newr one in back of the seat in each pickup.
DSW has one of the shorter ones in her belt kit.
Great piece of eqipmnt for the bucks.
Hard to beat.

I like them, and it is a popular knife among soldiers.
