Lilacs

I have a wonderful bush of lilacs and was wondering if there
were some little known uses for lilacs. I can already guess
about potpourri as one use .... but are there any others?
I wasn't sure where to post this so I hope this section is ok.

My girlfriend pours boiling water over the flowers, lets them steep for twenty minutes or so and uses it in her bath water. I don't know if it has any medicinal value, but she sure smells good when she gets out of the tub. ;D

I used to make candy out of them for cupcakes. beat one egg white with little bit of sugar drop of water dip the flower in the mix let it dry.make a cute top on a cupcake and teastes good too. got that from lady at renisons fair.
