up the road there is a burnt down homestead and lots of bushes/young trees have sprung up that remind me somewhat of locust, but they are blooming purlplish/pinkish,very pretty, in clusters like locust or wisteria. the trunks or stems of the bushes are kind of prickly like little thorns, similar to rugosa roses. not the spikes you find on locusts. anyone know what I am talking about and would it be worth while to dig up af ew and plant them near my bees? *thanks in advance.
I have never seen the like before.

They are a type of locust tree. They dont grow very tall mine are 25 plus years old & only about 8 foot tall . more shrubby than tree. They will spread by root growth real bad to.Do make a nice hedge .Cant remember what we were told the botanical name was but will look in garden journal to see if I wrote it down.Bees dont seem to be around these plants. Dont know if they dont like them or if there are to many other flowering plants for them to be at.
