I have two teen boys and of course they have friends over like all other teens. Most of the kids that come here enjoy any thing to do with livestock, gardening, ect. and now foraging is on our to do list. We are going to eat some dandelions, puff balls and fiddle head ferns to start with and of course mushrooms. I am so excited that these young people are interested in the way we live. Just had to share this one.

Hi, Mom. this site may help them in their quest.
It is so nice that they are learning what nature has already provided for them in food and meds, and delivered them all right to their doorstep.
Altnature.com gives a rundown on some of these wild edibles. love, alma

That is very cool. To have kids take an interest in a topic like that!

TNdadx4, yes it is very cool. Some of these young men are starving for this type of information. They have really shocked me, i am so excited to help them learn.

I'm glad to hear that. I have a similar situation here and I'm loving every minute of it. I got home from work the day before yesterday and there's my young friend Jeren, sitting on my front steps with a bucket full of wild leeks, another one with ten nice bullheads in it and a huge smile on his face. A month ago, he didn't know what a wild leek was and had never been fishing. I'm happy for you and the kids both, enjoy it.

Bob.
