Hi there, I don't know what forum topic this goes into, but I cured my first batch of chewing tobacco from my garden. I grew about ten plants, just as an experiment. It went well. I enjoyed it, it has nicotine, but not too much (which is a problem with improperly cured tobacco), and it tastes relatively good. I know some of the commercial brands, like Copenhagen, age or ferment their chewing tobacco in wood barrels, but I haven't found any info on how to do that myself.
A great new experience.

Hi Duck!
There have been a number of mentions on the forums about tobacco in the last year - try the search function.
There is also a forum for cultivating, curing and processing tobacco on a small scale that I've gotten a lot of information from. It's not real active, but there is some great info out there: How to Grow Tobacco (http://www.howtogrowtobacco.com/forums/index.php)
Love to hear more about your experiences with growing and processing your tobacco.
Regards,
Pat

Here is where I ordered from this year. I have heard that they have a good reputation. They are Kentucky based, so I hope it will work out for my colder climate. New Hope Seeds
