Mayapple

I live in the mountains of Va. and most folks know about ginseng goldenseal,bloodroot among other herbs, roots, and barks but I cannot remember what mayapple was used for. Does any one out there know? Thanks. I learn so much here.

The roots are sometimes bought by the dealers but I think they only bring maybe 2 bits a pound dry. I THINK they are blended into "natural" laxative herbal combinations. The fruit is good to make a drink like lemonade, only the fruit is edible, not the leaves or roots. The 'coons will get the fruit if you let them.
