Indigenous Americans put a leaf of yarrow in their mouth during a cold to lessen its impact.

Try it, the medicinal taste is comforting. It's a common feathery leafed plant that grows year round.

Interesting. I wonder how the Indians came up with that. Yarrow (Achillea Millefolium) is a European native brought by the settlers.
If you have it handy it is worth a try. For a cold, drink it as tea as hot as you can take it. It has a very beneficial effect on the liver and is a good blood cleanser, taking cleansing herbs usually helps get over a cold faster. . Yarrow is very good for women who have female problems, Irregular menses, cramping. Maria Treben really recommends it to women.

Yarrow is also said to be a natural bandaid because the bruised leaves help clot the blood faster when used on small cuts.
