I never seen one like that. I believe that is all kinds of fun that just needs ME as the last ingredient. Thanks.

great for getting a rope or cable someplace hard to get to. But, come to think about it, might as well just cast from something like a fishing pole.

looks like a really nice sword.
in your search for an effective ancient weapon, don't overlook blunt force weapons. a big stick or a piece of re-bar can keep the goblin hordes from chewing you up too badly.

Hi All,
No matter what senario plays out in a SHTF event...I would personally keep all my firearms for defensive & protective purposes only.
I would hunt with more silent weapons such as...Blowguns, spears, bows (anykind), airguns, slingshots, and traps.
I'm profficient (sp) with my 4' long blowgun and various ammo that it can use. My 175lb pull Rifle Crossbow with laser sighting (love it...point an shoot). My .22 cal Sheridan air rifle, & my wrist rocket slingshot (lazerhawk), along with various forms of snare traps.
I also throw Hawk, and can hit target (playing card) at 60 paces.
One cool thing to think about is that a slingshot can fire a variety of ammo, found naturally in the outdoors (rocks), and making blowgun darts is rather an easy thing to also produce in the wild. Arrows/Bolts can also be made in the wild, tho more time consuming.
Hunting by silent means will do two positive things. 1. Hunting in this manner will not scare away other wildlife in the area, and 2. By hunting silently, you will not give away your position to any outsiders. *;D
PS...TheYeti...Darn nice looking sword in that second pic!!!

Well I didn't make it , but I threw a rock once and hit my brother in the head with it and it was pretty affective. I got a whuppin for it after he got out of emergency.

I was watching a History Channel show about barbarians vs romans and apparently a very effective weapon was a plain wood club with a wedge carved into it. Seems it sliced and diced along with causing blunt force trauma.
