What is the best way to store ammo long term?

For the common man probably in ammo cans stored in a warm dry place - NEVER underground.

Well if you have some ammo thats from the eastern bloc allot of it comes in big galvanized "spam" cans. I picked up a can with 440 rounds in it for like $40. The inspection slip in the inside was dated 1955. The ammo shot good!

Well there was one Japanese Soldier that stored his ammo in glass jars full of coconut oil for years. Its also a good read of a book. Link below.
