Do any of you like cannons?
I built this one out of old machine parts.
Stainless 2 1/4 "barrel with a 1 3/32" bore.
Walnut carrage
Antique cast iron wheels.
It was fun to build and more fue to shoot.
With 1 oz. of FFG black powder and a 1" brass ball ...What a Blast he he
Would like to see other pix..

THAT is just TOO cool 8). Makes me wonder what's mounted on the hood of the lawn tractor that you tow that beast behind. :o

I have one, too. Not nearly as nice or portable and no pics. It's a 5 ft long, 4" dia pipe inside a huge V-shaped chunk of concrete that once served as a basketball goal. I capped the short end and drilled a hole. About 20 inches of 'barrel' is what sticks out from the other side. It's easily rolled in a circle but elevation adjustment is a real pain.

Any thoughts on cutting automobile drive-shafts into cannons?

LOL I have pulled it with the lawn tractor I get funny looks.
I would try to stay away from pipe for cannon barrels.
Most info. I have seen is a barrel dia. 2 times the bore
So a 4" peace of steel could be bored 2".
Check out this site for more info.

Very nice.
I have a cast iron 3 pounder on homemade carrage (tubular steel). Gun was dug on the property and bored out and sleeved with a SS liner.
For prospective on bore to breech diameter this gun has an 8" diameter breech and a 2.75" bore.
