out of curiosity i did a search for any makers/distributers of japanese bow tackle.
and low and behold! i found both in one spot!
right here.

http://www.kyudo.com/asahiam.html

i have had a life long love affair with the bow.
i have made primitive indian style bows, even made the flint broadheads for the arrows.made modern laminated bows, hell i even love compounds.

and dont even get me started on crossbows! (love'em,making them and shooting them)

someday when i'm a famous blade maker again maybe i'll spoil myself one christmas and buy me one of these fine bows.

Cool site Mark and Nicole

The bows look a little strange to me being as my primary experience is with fiberglas recurves based on the middle eastern/north american traditional bows.

Very interesting indeed.

Have you ever actually shot one? I noticed that the "hand grip" is not centered. One limb [upper ?] appears to be longer than the other. I didn't read the whole site. Did they say anything about that over there?

Anyway pardon my manners .... Howdy I also have the archery bug. I've heard that its terminal [ie: it never leaves until the host dies.... <grin> ]
